Trinity Soccer Remains Undefeated

Young men with a heart for the Lord and a fighting spirit on the field

On Friday the Eagles took a three-hour road trip  to the Atlanta area to play the Hillian Hill Cougars in Lilburn, Georgia. Killian Hill has an outstanding soccer program, and with a student enrollment nearly five times that of Trinity, they are always fierce competitors.

The JV teams got things going first. Our boys easily handled the Cougars and finished the game with a 3-0 victory. This was the first game of the season for the JV. Good job boys!

The varsity game was a much harder battle, but the Eagles played extremely well. At half time we were up, 1-0. Trinity controlled the field through the entire first half. During the second half  Killian seemed to get energized and had the upper hand. During the game Trinity had 18 shots at the goal, vs. 11 for Killian Hill. With four minutes left to play, Killian scored with a virtually un-defendable kick into the upper right-hand corner of the goal, tying the score. With rain coming down in a torrential downpour, neither team was able to post another point. The game ended in 1-1 tie. Killian and Trinity will meet again in a tournament on October 8-9.

A physical and hard-fought battle to the end
