Trinity Soccer Earns Two More Wins

Trinity’s boys soccer teams added two more victories to their season yesterday when they travelled to west Georgia to play LaGrange Academy on their turf. It was another excellent matchup with a school that has an outstanding athletic program. LaGrange Academy has many state championship wins in various sports and they have been soccer state runner-ups twice.

The JV teams took to the field first and our boys came out on top with a 4-2 victory. Three of our goals were scored in the first half and one more in the last half. The Eagles played as a solid unit with excellent passing and communication. Their record for the year is now 3-0.

Next the varsity took the field. LaGrange Academy’s defense was a force to be reckoned with. They played excellent soccer and were able to strategically pull our guys off-sides a number of times – especially in the first half. Fortunately Trinity was able to cope with their defense and scored seven times. LaGrange was only able to score four times. Scoring for Trinity was Adam Weissinger, Harrison Godwin, James Hayley (2), Rick Hayley, Sam Schuessler, and Matt Gaught. The varsity’s record for the season is five wins, one tie, and no losses.

Trinity varsity will play in a tournament this weekend.

Adam Weissinger and Matt Gaught high-five after Matt scored a goal in the final seconds of the game. LaGrange filled the goal with its entire team to defend the goal. Matt kicked it over their heads to score.
