Trinity Soccer Continues to WIN!
OK, so let’s get this straight. Trinity has a boys varsity team that is roughly for 9th-12th graders, (with a few boys who play up from time to time), a jv team of 6th-8th graders (with an occasional 5th grader), an Opelika rec league team of 5th and 6th graders (with 7th graders dressing out as stand-ins in case of a no-show, injury, etc.), and a couple other combinations of players to take on various travel teams that want to play Trinity (under 16 teams, and under 15 teams for example), and they are ALL undefeated! That’s amazing!
Trinity’s varsity played yesterday against Calvary Christian Academy at home and beat them 7-1, boosting their winning record to 18-0-1.
Meanwhile, across town a crowd gathered to watch our 5th and 6th graders play at the SportsPlex against a rec league team. That team had an amazing goallie who managed to keep all but three of Trinity’s shots from reaching the net. I would estimate that somewhere near 15 shots were taken in all. Scoring for Trinity was Oliver Warmouth (2), and Ellis Godwin. The opponent managed 2 goals against Trinity’s defense.
Special thanks to 8th grader Cate G. for the soccer photos! The picture in this blog entry was not from yesterday, but is too nice to not use. Cate gave me several really nice photos that she has taken this year.
