An Adventurous Night of Soccer

It was an exciting night tonight. Both our boys and girls played great soccer, but the real excitement came at 10:30 PM when the bus we were travelling in just quit running three miles east of Dadeville on Highway 280. Fortunately we had many parents show up to transport kids home, and in the midst of all the turmoil one Trinity family texted Coach Danny “Romans 8:28.”

We truly serve a great God and I am so thankful for both the kids and the parents at TCS.

The Trinity girls soccer team travelled to Birmingham tonight to take on the Birmingham Bullets. It was the first game our girls played since last spring and they looked sharp, if I do say so myself. The team has made a lot of improvement since the last time I saw them play, and they displayed an encouraging amount of maturity. Trinity handled the ball well and obviously controlled it throughout the whole game. Isadora Duncan kept the ball out Trinity’s goal against a number of shots on goal. The Bullets did manage one against us on a penalty kick. Sara Caitlin Godwin had a great game and scored three goals for the Eagles. Final score: Trinity 3, Bullets 1.

After the game one of the refs even came over to talk to our girls and complimented them for their skill, potential, and character. He even took time to give them some pointers on how to improve their game.

Meanwhile on a field just a few feet away Trinity’s JV boys team faced another Birmingham team and handled them easily with a 7-1 win. JV’s season record is now 9-0.

Great job boys and girls!
