Central Georgia and Furtah Prep Fall to Trinity

Trinity Christian School’s varsity boys soccer team handily defeated the Central Georgia Vipers Monday night in Opelika by a 4-0 margin.  Rick Hayley scored twice for the Eagles, while Oliver Warmouth and William Patton each booted in a goal.  Winston and Lawson Durbin contributed an assist apiece to Trinity’s attack.  Coach Dick Hayley played all 19 of his players who dominated possession against the Vipers with a relentless display of precision passing.  On Tuesday night a physical and talented Furtah Prep varsity visited Trinity only to be handed a 7-1 defeat by the Eagles.  Trinity’s defense, led by backs William Patton, Will Givens and DJ Johnson, and goalkeeper Trevor Vordenbaum, blunted the Falcon attack throughout the afternoon.  Matt King and Rick Hayley both had two goals and an assist, while Winston Durbin, Tad York and Patton added a score each.  Trinity’s team play repeatedly dissipated the less coordinated individual efforts of the Falcons.  The Eagles, who are 7-0 on the season, return to the pitch Friday afternoon at LaGrange Academy.
