Trinity Sweeps Regional Tournament

ImageThe Trinity Christian School varsity boys soccer team recorded a second pair of wins on Saturday to remain undefeated (20-0) on the season and secure the championship in their regional  tournament.  The Heart of Georgia Homeschool Vipers fell to the Eagles by the score of 8-1 on Saturday morning.  Matt King scored a pair of goals for Trinity, while Winston Durbin, Rick and Jake Hayley, Tad York and Matt Barks each netted a goal.  The Vipers also suffered an own goal on the deflection of a shot by Lawson Durbin.  King, Winston Durbin, Jacob Hayley and William Patton each dished out an assist.  In the final game of the tournament Trinity booted LaGrange Academy by the score of 5-0.  Rick Hayley tallied 2 goals, while Patton and Lee Givens each had one apiece, and King contributed a goal and 2 assists.  Eagle juniors Winston Durbin, Rick Hayley, Sam Schuessler, Tad York and goalkeeper Trevor Vordenbaum were selected to the All-Tournament Team.  Trinity’s varsity will play again Tuesday night in Birmingham against the Bessemer Legacy club team.
